Admission Procedures

EU Citizens

According to law no. 316/12.07.2006, EU citizens, EEA and Swiss Confederation citizens, can be accepted to studies in the same conditions as Romanian citizens, including the tuition fees.

The candidates who graduated high-school in European countries, other than Romania, must have their high-school diploma recognized and validated by the Romanian National Centre for the Recognition and Validation of Diplomas (C.N.R.E.D. being a department of the Romanian Ministry of National Education). Only after receiving the Recognition of Studies Certificate the candidates will be able to register at the faculty of choice. The documents that have to be validated by the Romanian National Centre for the Recognition and Validation of Diplomas must be submitted to the Department of International Relations by the 15th of August, in order to be sent to the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, at the following address:

Citizens from EU third countries

The admission process for citizens from EU third countries, is performed according to the Methodology for issuing the Letters of Acceptance and admitting foreign citizens from EU third countries for studies and schooling at West University of Timisoara, approved by the Senate Decision no. 53 dated in 32/24.05.2017.

Erasmus Programmes

ERASMUS (European Community Actions for the Mobility of University Students) este componenta principală a Programului LIFE LONG LEARNING care se adresează învățământului superior. Prin intermediul acestuia, programul continuă, într-o formă revizuită și extinsă, Proiectul de acțiune al Comunității Europene pentru mobilitatea studenților și Programul SOCRATES.

Programul Erasmus permite ca peste 200.000 de studenți să studieze în universități străine și să efectueze stagii de practică în străinătate în fiecare an. Programul susține, în același timp, cooperarea dintre instituțiile de învățământ superior din Europa.

Study programmes in English/German/French

Do you want studies in Romanian Language or in other Foreign Language?

a) For those who want to study in Romanian language – if the candidate knows the Romanian Language but does not have a Romanian Language Certificate or Diploma, he/she must obtain it following an exam at Faculty of Letters, History and Theology. Only after passing this language exam, the candidate shall be accepted into the first year of study. The persons proving with documents that they have attended at least 4 years of study in Romanian language do not need to pass this language exam anymore.

If the candidate does not know the Romanian language, he/she must attend Preparatory Year for learning Romanian language. In the first semester, at Preparatory Year, at Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, the students will study Romanian Language as a Foreign Language and in the second semester the students will study the Romanian terms of the domain where he/she will continue the studies: medical, technical, mathematics, economics, law, humanistic, artistic, musical, agronomy etc.

b) For those who want to study in an international foreign language - the language test is required if the candidate can not prove that he/she had studied in the respective language.

Accommodation

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration offers accommodation facilities in the campus for the duration of all three years of study.

Located at a very short distance from the headquarters of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (5 minute walk), the campus offers a lively authentic atmosphere, due to the focusing in the same area of over 20 student hostels, cafes, restaurants and discos.

Romanian and foreign students from all universities of Timisoara, starting with the University of the West and continuing with the Polytechnic University or the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, confer the student campus in Timisoara its uniqueness, due to its diversity and intercultural character.

Moreover, the campus is located in the center of the city, only a few minutes away from the river Bega and from the historical part of the city, and it is also connected by tramway and by bus from all parts of the city.

Student Hostel no. 15

  • It is located in the campus, FC Ripensia Alley - C15;
  • Five-bed rooms;
  • Separate bathrooms (men/ women);
  • The hostel is equipped with cameras on each corridor, the access is conditioned by card-based entrance;
  • The student hostel has two reading rooms and kitchens;
  • Continuous connection to internet (cable + wireless) and TV cable;
  • The hostel is equipped with washing machines and driers.
  • In this student hostel there are also located:
  • The Student Information Centre (CIS), where students can request information regarding the academic environment where they study and hey have free access to the internet and to the computer network;
  • The Centre for Career Development, where students have access to job-related information and they can benefit from consultancy regarding job applications.
