The Steps to Follow Before and After Obtaining an Erasmus Scholarship:

  1. The student makes sure that he/she fulfills all the conditions previously mentioned, which are also present on the website of the West University of Timisoara.
  2. The student checks the website of the West University of Timisoara regarding the general information and the list of partner universities;
  3. The student checks the website of the universities/faculties from abroad, regarding their educational offer.
  4. The student chooses a country and university for which he will apply. The choice will be made according to the student’s linguistic competencies and according to the curricula of the host university which must be compatible with the curricula of the study programme the student is attending at FEAA. We recommend you to consider this in order to be able to equate the credits and marks when retuning from the mobility.
  5. The student checks with the departmental coordinator and with the faculty coordinator regarding the adequate choice compared to the subjects studies at FEAA. The list of Departmental Coordinators can be found at the bottom of this page.
  6. The student follows the selection procedure available on the website of the West University of Timisoara.
  7. The student obtains the certificate of linguistic competencies.
  8. The student completes the application file for the Erasmus scholarship (in the request he/she will mention three choices, in order of preference).
  9. The student comes to the interview which will be conducted in the language of the chosen study programme. It aims at observing the motivation, the academic aspects etc.
  10. The student checks the results on FEAA’s website or at the Office of International Relations, FEAA, he/she will go in due time to the Department of International Relations to fill in all the necessary forms (financial contract, learning agreement) and he/she will contact the representatives of the faculty to which he/she applied for an Erasmus scholarship. The forms are available on the website of the Department of International Relations.
  11. The student completes the file in the given period, and he/she takes it to the West University of Timisoara, at the Department of International Relations.
  12. When the student arrives to the faculty that welcomes him to the Erasmus programme, the student can do, if necessary, changes to the Learning Agreement.
  13. The student keeps in touch with the departmental coordinator and with the faculty coordinator regarding the choice, and subsequent equation of the additional subjects from the host university.
  14. In case the student wishes to prolong the mobility period, from one semester to 2 semesters, inside the same academic year, he/she will fill in a standard form, which can be obtained from the Department of International Relations.
  15. After the student returns to Romania, he will go to the Erasmus departmental coordinator and to the faculty coordinator, with the transcript of records in order to be able to equate the grades obtained during the Erasmus mobility.
  16. The student who benefits from an Erasmus scholarship must make sure that the transcript of records issued by the faculties at which he/she studied for the mobility period agreed through the Erasmus contract, filled in, signed and stamped arrives in due time at the Erasmus faculty coordinator. It is necessary to fit into the terms, so that when the grades are equated, the student will benefit from their rights at FEAA (scholarships, reclassification).
  17. The Erasmus faculty coordinator will confirm that the student has respected all of his/her obligations established through the Erasmus contract.
  18. The student who doesn’t obtain the necessary number of credits for each semester (30 ECTS credits) will have to return the scholarship obtained. If the students obtain 22 ECTS credits they can attend the exams at FEAA to obtain the remaining 8 credits, and they will only return the amount of money corresponding to those 8 credits.

Equivalence procedure

  1. Consulting with the Erasmus departmental coordinator for each study programme (check the list of departmental coordinators below) to identify the subjects chosen at the university abroad, which can be equated to the subjects from FEAA teaching plan.
  2. The equivalence document and the grades obtained at the foreign university will be presented to the faculty coordinator for the equivalence of grades according to the grade equivalency grid.
  3. Drawing the decision of equivalence by the Erasmus faculty coordinator, after consulting the Erasmus departmental coordinator.
  4. In case there is no correspondence between the subjects the student must contact the professor of each subject to take the exam.
  5. The final document will be taken to the secretariat office.
